Noah At Four Months: Stepping It Up A Notch

Time seems to be flying by these days. Noah is growing so fast and progressing so much that it is hard to believe.
He is now a week past his 4 month birthday. The little guy has had a few doctors appointments in the past weeks that have changed the game plan a little. But all in all I would have to say his progress is slow and steady.
We had our Neonatology evaluation last week. This is where they check on the development of a child that was admitted to a NICU after birth. We met up with a couple of the doctors that were in charge of his care back during our stay. It was nice to see some familiar faces and know that he was remembered fondly as well. They did a few little tests, much like the ones that Early On did a while back. Mostly testing his social and mental development.
Unfortunately Noah was not on his game that day and he didn’t score all that well on the testing. His doctor then suggested that we step up his physical therapy to 3 days a week and also throw in some occupational therapy as well. This will put more of a strain on our time and lives in general but we are glad to do it if it helps him out in the long run.
Katie and I sort of think that all of this may be a bit of overkill, but I would rather do a little extra therapy now than have lost the opportunity later. More can be done in the first year than any time later in life when it comes to the effects of cerebral palsy.
Noah only gets one first year of life, so even if it only helps a little, it will be worth it.

Baby steps.
